Oklahoma State University Dining Services to host grand opening for first-ever campus food truck

Oklahoma State University Dining Services will debut its first food truck, “Chophouse Taqueria,” with an official kickoff ceremony Friday, Jan. 15, followed by free samples and an appearance by Pistol Pete.

Attendees will include OSU President Burns Hargis, First Cowgirl Ann Hargis, Administration and Finance Senior Vice President Joe Weaver, University Dining Services Director Terry Baker and Executive Chef Phillip Yates.

Food trucks are the hottest trend in university dining, and OSU is continually on the lookout for new and innovative ways to ensure its students, staff and faculty always have access to food and beverages to fuel their day. The Chophouse Taqueria will feature Mexican staples with an Oklahoma twist – tacos, burrito bowls, soup, salad and more.

The event will start at 11 a.m. Friday in the parking lot south of Whitehurst Hall. University Dining Services offers 32 dining options on the Oklahoma State University campus. As a cornerstone of “America’s Healthiest Campus,” dining services provides the OSU community with a wide variety of quality dining experiences and informs customers about dining choices, nutrition and sustainability.
