University Dining Services looking for a Fresh Mix with healthy salad recipe contest
Thursday, February 4, 2016

University Dining Services at Oklahoma State University is on the lookout for a new, healthy salad for its grab-to-go coolers around campus. Until February 12, the department is encouraging currently enrolled students to submit their healthy salad recipes to the “Fresh Mix” recipe competition where one winner will receive a $100 UDS Meal Card and have the honor of their salad being prepared by University Dining chefs and made available for purchase for students all over campus!
The form for submissions is located on the University Dining Services’ Healthy Dining website and is currently open and available for entries. All recipes must meet “Choose Orange” criteria, and will be evaluated by a panel of judges on 5 set criteria: Adherence to guidelines, taste, appearance, ease of reproduction, and nutrition. Once the panel has narrowed the recipes down to the top 3 entries, it’s up to the student body to determine the winner! Sample tables will be set up around campus for students to try the different salad, give their feedback and place their votes.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 12, voting is scheduled to take place the week of March 7-11 and the winner will be announced on March 21.
Prizes for second and third place include a $50 and $25 UDS Meal Plan card, respectively.
