Bird honored by national association

Dr. Lee Bird, vice president for student affairs at Oklahoma State University, was recently awarded a lifetime honorary membership in the Association for Student Conduct Administration during its 29th annual international conference.
Bird has been an active and long-term contributing member of the association and has served in various capacities. Her leadership capacities within the organization include president of the Raymond Goldstone (ASCA) Foundation and Gehrig Academy Faculty.
Bird also co-authored the book “The First Amendment on Campus” with Mary Beth Mackin and Saundra K. Schuster. The book has served as a handbook for college and university administrators on how to handle First Amendment issues.
Bird previously received the Donald G. Gehring Award in recognition of her leadership, service and contribution to the body of knowledge for the field of student conduct.
