The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) recently hosted the Boy Scout Merit Badge University in the new Engineering South Annex at Oklahoma State University.

Twenty boy scouts from Stillwater Troop 802 received badges in categories that included engineering, emergency preparedness, family and citizenship in the world.

The training the scouts received at OSU to help them earn the merit badges is a product of a university and community partnership that includes CEAT Dean Paul Tikalsky, Dr. Daniel Shoup from the College of Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Jim Martin from the Spears School of Business, all of whom helped instruct the scouts. OSU’s Fire Service Training led the emergency preparedness instruction with help from Rob Hill, Stillwater director of emergency services.

“Stillwater’s strong scouting tradition and its partnership with OSU helps prepare young people for success in life,” says Tikalsky. “We are proud to be Cowboys.”
