Candidates for governor sending representatives to forum Oct. 29
Monday, October 29, 2018
The candidates for Oklahoma governor will be sending surrogates to answer questions in an open forum from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 29 on the North Porch of Oklahoma State University’s Student Union. Chad Phillips, MD, will be representing Republican Kevin Stitt. Earl Mitchell will represent Drew Edmondson, the Democrat.
Madison Ling, Stillwater coordinator for Edmondson’s campaign, is working with Misael
Hernandez, the Student Government Association’s public affairs committee president,
to coordinate the event, which is open to the public.
“Of course it is student targeted, because the primary motivation here is to give
students an easy on-the-way opportunity to gain information that they personally care
about in regards to the midterms,” Ling said. “The goal is to get out the student
vote, but no community member will be turned away.”
The forum will be casual, with pizza provided for students who ask questions or engage
in the activity in general. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move
to the Little Theater lobby.
