OSU Agriculture Hall reaches $1 million in energy savings

Wednesday, May 30, 2018

Oklahoma State University is recognizing another facility on its Stillwater campus for reaching the $1 million mark in energy savings. As of December 2017, Agriculture Hall has avoided $1,021,289 in energy costs.

This milestone is part of a system-wide savings of more than $50.1 million since OSU’s Energy Conservation Program began in July 2007.

The majority of the savings in energy costs is due to the modification of heating and air conditioning systems to run on an “as needed” basis and changing the behaviors of employees and students.

The program concentrates on working with faculty, staff and students to reduce energy usage in their offices, labs, workspaces and living areas. By embracing the university’s energy conservation guidelines each person on campus has contributed to the reduction of energy usage as a conscientious energy consumer and conserver.
