OSU Panhellenic Council

Oklahoma State University Panhellenic Council honored

Thursday, August 22, 2019

Oklahoma State University’s Panhellenic Council was recently recognized as one of the nation’s top-achieving groups by the National Panhellenic Conference. The council was one of 19 groups to receive the College Panhellenic Achievement Award from NPC, which includes organizations at more than 670 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada.

The award recognizes the success of OSU’s Panhellenic Council in upholding the values and ideals of college panhellenics, which are cooperatives comprised of all sororities on a campus. The achievement award is judge on seven criteria, including recruitment, panhellenic structure, communication with NPC adviser, judicial procedures and such campus-oriented criteria as programming, academics, and community impact and relations.

“Winning this award solidifies all of the hard work that we have put in as a council,” said Taylor Gray, a senior strategic communications major and vice president of public relations for OSU’s Panhellenic Council. “As a team, we work together to ensure that OSU has a Panhellenic community that not only thrives but makes all women feel welcome while enhancing their college experience.

“As a community, we hold excellence in academics, diversity and philanthropy at a high standard. With every decision that we make, we make sure that it reflects these values and improves not only the Panhellenic community but OSU as well. Panhellenic is a community where women can grow into strong leaders and find their passions with support of others during college and after.”

For more than 50 years, NPC, a leading advocate for women, has honored college Panhellenics annually for excellence. This year, 45 colleges and universities received excellence or achievement distinction.

OSU’s Panhellenic Council exists to develop and maintain sorority life and interfraternal relations, including programming efforts and leadership development. The council oversees 13 groups represented on the OSU campus. To learn more about OSU’s Panhellenic Council, visit okla.st/pan.
