Student Disability Services office moves, changes names

Monday, January 6, 2020

The office of Student Disability Services is kicking off 2020 with a new home and a new name.

It has moved from the Student Union to 155 University Health Services (1202 W. Farm Road). The main phone number and phone extensions for staff will not change.

The office is now known as Student Accessibility Services (SAS).

The name change emphasizes the office’s goal of access and accessibility across campus. The word “disability” often leads people to believe that the office is concerned only with severe physical and psychological conditions, leading to confusion.

The office’s move to the UHS offices will better support its operations and give University Counseling Services additional space in the Student Union.

Student Accessibility Services will have greater access to administrative support through collaboration with existing health services staff in its new location. Easier parking and access to the facility and closer proximity to campus partners including ABLE Tech, University Assessment & Testing, and Residential Life are also part of the move.

For more information, contact Student Accessibility Services at accessibility@okstate.edu or 405-744-7116.
