President Hargis commends Pi Beta Phi for their management of COVID-19 outbreak

Thursday, September 3, 2020

Just before the start of classes this semester, OSU reported a contained outbreak of COVID-19 in an off-campus sorority. This sorority, the Oklahoma Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi,  followed the university’s protocols for move-in, pre-recruitment and recruitment.

The chapter’s prompt response and transparency helped to limit the spread and protect their community and the broader OSU community. They worked with our health experts during the pre-quarantine and quarantine period by transparently reporting testing and test results and keeping everyone updated.

Today I’m pleased to report the sorority members who were impacted in Pi Beta Phi have completed their quarantine and do not have any additional active cases at this time. The quick action and follow-through helped ensure the health and safety of the chapter membership. I commend them for the thoughtful and thorough way they handled this situation.

I ask the entire Cowboy family to extend their support and appreciation to the women of Pi Beta Phi as they continue a successful semester on campus.

Go Pokes!
