OSU named among the best in US News and World Report’s 2023 Best Grad School rankings

Several Oklahoma State University graduate degree programs appeared in the annual U.S. News and World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings with the College of Education and Human Sciences making the largest gain in the 2023 list.

The College of Education and Human Sciences’ education graduate program moved up 15 spots to No. 76, which is nearly 30 spots higher than OSU’s ranking two years ago in that category. It puts OSU ahead of Big 12 Conference schools like the University of Oklahoma, Texas Tech University and Texas Christian University.

In the curriculum and instruction category of the education graduate program, OSU appeared at No. 30 after not being on the list last year. For more information on education graduate programs, visit the CEHS site at okla.st/3sDJ1pk

The OSU Center for Health Sciences rose five spots to No. 5 in rural care and stayed at the No. 7 spot in health professional shortage areas. In primary care, OSU-CHS is No. 52 in primary care production and tied for No. 58 in diversity. For more information on the medical graduate programs, visit the OSU-CHS site at okla.st/3Lh2Ifq.  

The Spears School of Business’ part-time MBA program came in at No. 57 in the 2023 rankings out of 278 colleges and universities surveyed, ahead of OU, the University of Tulsa and the University of Central Oklahoma. OSU’s engineering programs in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology posted solid marks. Ranked as the No. 116 overall program, engineering moved up in a few categories from last year. CEAT placed extremely well in the areas of agricultural, industrial and petroleum engineering. 

In agricultural engineering, OSU placed at No. 20, good for third in the Big 12. In industrial engineering, OSU was highly regarded with a stable No. 36 ranking and was No. 18 in petroleum engineering.

OSU moved up seven spots in civil engineering from No. 84 to No. 77 and a couple of spots from No. 91 to No. 89 in mechanical engineering.  For more information on the engineering graduate programs, visit the CEAT site at okla.st/30pFm0a

The OSU College of Veterinary Medicine came in just outside the top 25 and finished at No. 26 in the rankings. For more information on OSU Vet Med, go to okla.st/3tME2pg.

The College of Arts and Sciences saw several of its graduate programs make the 2023 list, which are: biology at No. 186; chemistry at No. 128; computer science at No. 135; English at No. 131; geology at No. 89; history at No. 113; mathematics at No. 102; physics at No. 107; psychology at no. 122; sociology at No. 106; speech-language pathology at No. 109; and statistics at No. 86.
