Oklahoma State University has honored Emilie Tallent with the 2024 OSU Sponsored Programs Service Award, recognizing her dedication and contributions to sponsored programs within the College of Arts and Sciences.

The OSU Sponsored Programs Service Award highlights individuals demonstrating outstanding commitment to the field. This award is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to foster a collaborative research environment.

In her acceptance remarks, Tallent expressed deep gratitude to her colleagues.

"It is a tremendous honor to receive this award, and I am sincerely grateful to the faculty and staff of CAS and OSU, without whom this success would not be possible," Tallent said. "This award is a reflection of the hard work the college performs every day to facilitate the research enterprise and accomplish the land-grant mission of the university."

Tallent’s supervisor, Dr. Camelia Knapp, praised her outstanding leadership abilities.

"Emilie meets and surpasses expectations with her creativity, analytical skills and interpersonal talents,” Knapp said. “She will continue to make significant contributions to the research endeavors in CAS and at OSU.”

Tallent and the CAS sponsored programs team recently completed the CAS Administration Best Practices Handbook for Departmental Heads and Admins, which will be introduced during a workshop planned for October.

Dr. Julie Swaringim-Griffin, assistant vice president of the Central Sponsored Programs Administration, underscored the importance of recognizing exceptional staff members like Tallent.

"Our Sponsored Programs staff at OSU are fantastic individuals,” Swaringim-Griffin said. “Recognizing their hard work and celebrating their efforts in their careers is a priority. Emilie’s ability to make everyone feel valued embodies the reputation we want for the OSU Sponsored Programs staff."

As the university continues to celebrate the accomplishments of its dedicated staff, Tallent’s recognition serves as a testament to the role that sponsored programs play in advancing research and innovation at OSU.

“I am most grateful to our faculty for all they do, especially the staff in the CAS Research office who teach me every day there is something more to learn, even after five years of service,” Tallent said.
