Oklahoma State University Museum of Art is seeking submissions for the 2025 "Cimarron National Works on Paper," ajuried exhibition.
For the first time, the OSU Museum of Art will host this showcase of original works on paper by contemporary artists, marking a significant milestone in its history.
Founded in 1987, the "Cimarron National Works on Paper" has been a testament to OSU’s rich history in printmaking and works on paper. Previously held in the Department of Art, Graphic Design and Art History’s Gardiner Gallery from 1987-95, with a revival in 2019 and 2021, the exhibition continues highlighting contemporary practices while honoring OSU’s enduring commitment to works on paper.
This year’s juror is Amanda Lee, assistant professor of printmaking and drawing, digital emphasis, at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. A multidisciplinary artist, Lee specializes in printmaking, book arts, and photography; exploring Indigenous knowledge systems through her work.
Artists are invited to submit original works on paper — including photography, book arts and paper-based mixed media — created within the past three years. Selected works will be featured in an exhibition catalog and eligible for purchase awards totaling $2,000. Acquired works will become part of the OSU Museum of Art’s permanent collection, further enriching its significant holdings of works on paper.
Submissions are due by May 1, 2025. For eligibility details and application information, visit https://museum.okstate.edu/art/cimarron-national-2025.html.
The 2025 exhibition will be on view at the OSU Museum of Art from Aug. 19 to Dec. 19, 2025, with a reception on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025.
