Nine Oklahoma State University online programs earned awards in the U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Online Programs rankings, including a top-10 spot in the online undergraduate business program.

The 2025 U.S. News Best Online Programs evaluated over 1,600 online bachelor's and master's degree programs, focusing on criteria tailored to online education. The rankings included only degree-granting programs primarily delivered online by regionally accredited institutions.

“These rankings directly reflect OSU’s commitment to educational excellence and the tireless hours our faculty and staff put in to make OSU a great place to learn, grow and teach,” said Dr. Jeanette Mendez, OSU provost and senior vice president. “Whether it’s in a classroom or online, we remain dedicated to providing the best educational experience for our students."

The Spears School of Business tied for a No. 8 rank nationally, sharing the top ranking for online undergraduate business programs among Big 12 Conference schools with Texas Tech University and held the highest ranking among all colleges in Oklahoma.

“This top-10 ranking is a testament to the hard work of the faculty and staff in the design and delivery of our portfolio of online undergraduate business programs in serving students from across the state and beyond,” said Dr. Jim Payne, dean of Spears Business. “We understand the importance of individualized attention, especially in the online learning environment, and that is reflected in our motto, the Power of Personal.”

Spears online MBA also earned a high ranking jumping five spots to tie at No. 11 nationally. The program was also ranked No. 8 for veterans, making it the highest ranking any graduate business program has had in OSU’s history. It is the highest-ranked MBA program in Oklahoma.

The College of Education and Human Sciences’ online graduate education program rose 38 spots from 2024 to No. 104, making it the best online master’s in education program in the state. U.S. News highlighted the program’s research-based approach toward preparing graduates to be practical educators in the modern classroom.

CEHS offers 16 online graduate programs and a Ph.D. program in Health, Leisure and Human Performance.

The program also earned a new ranking for online graduate education programs for veterans, entering at No. 30.

The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology ranked No. 18 for its online master’s in engineering, marking the program's seventh consecutive year in the top 25.

CEAT provides fully accredited, 100% online graduate programs, including master’s degrees in electrical engineering, engineering and technology management, fire safety and explosion protection-engineering technology, fire and emergency management, and industrial engineering and management. Additionally, a doctorate in fire and emergency management is also available.

The graduate programs are designed for scientists and engineers interested in furthering their careers.

“Being a land-grant and top-tier (R1) research university, Oklahoma State University offers top-ranked engineering programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels,” said Dr. Hanchen Huang, dean of CEAT.

CEAT’s online graduate engineering programs also ranked No. 12 for veterans, ahead of fellow Big 12 schools, the University of Arizona and the University of Central Florida.
