Ausburns’ Work Honored by Governor’s Commendation, Legislative Citation

Occupational education professor Dr. Lynna Ausburn and adjunct professor Dr. Floyd Ausburn were recently honored with a Commendation from Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin and a Legislative Citation from Senator A.J. Griffin for their outstanding contributions to educational research and to the mentoring and success of graduate students at Oklahoma State University. Current and former graduate students presented the honors to the pair, set to retire later this summer.
OSU’s occupational education graduate program has consistently been ranked in the top 10 nationally by U.S. News and World Report with a No. 4 ranking in 2013.
The Governor’s Commendation and Legislature Citation lauded the Ausburns for dedication and professionalism in their transformative education research work in virtual reality technology; mentoring and career advancement of their students; and life-long service to workforce development at the state, national and international levels.
Lynna and Floyd frequently have presented and published their research nationally and internationally and are well-recognized for promoting the scholarly success of their students with many Ph.D. students. Several student have been honored by national organizations for outstanding research work and dissertations.
