Jason DeFreitas Receives Faculty Phoenix Award

Jason DeFreitas, assistant professor in health and human performance, was recognized with the Faculty Phoenix Award at the annual spring Graduate College Awards on April 15. The Awards are sponsored by the Graduate College and the Graduate Professional Student Government Association.

The Phoenix Faculty Award, now in its 33rd year, is a university-wide honor for excellence in graduate student mentorship. Students nominate professors for the honor. The College of Education had two additional finalists for the award, Julie Koch, associate professor in counseling psychology, and Toni Ivey, assistant professor in science education.
