DHM’s Summer Stevens named OSU Senior of Significance

College of Human Sciences student Summer Stevens has been selected as an Oklahoma State University Senior of Significance for the 2018-2019 academic year by the OSU Alumni Association. Stevens studies merchandising in the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising.

The Seniors of Significance Award recognizes students who have excelled in scholarship, leadership and service to campus and community and have brought distinction to OSU. Forty-four students were chosen for the honor and recognized during a public reception on November 29.

A native of Perry, Oklahoma, Stevens currently serves as executive director of the OSU Speakers Board and is the vice president of membership for the OSU Student Foundation. As a member of President’s Partners, she helps host events on behalf of OSU President Burns Hargis and First Cowgirl Ann Hargis.

Since 2016, Stevens also has served as facilitator for the President’s Leadership Council, mentoring groups of freshmen PLC students. She is active with Human Sciences Student Council and the OSU Student Alumni Board. Stevens was selected as an OSU Top 10 Freshman for 2015-2016. During the summer of 2018, Stevens completed an internship at Samantha Brown Styling in New York City.
