College of Human Sciences students Cole DeWitt and Kaitlyn Kirksey were recently announced as Oklahoma State University Top 10 Freshmen for 2016-2017. OSU’s Mortar Board chapter oversees the selection of the Top Ten Freshmen Men and Women.
A native of Cherokee, Oklahoma, DeWitt is a nutritional sciences major with an option in human nutrition/pre-medical studies. During his first year at OSU, he was a Human Sciences Freshman Scholars Leader, served on the Homecoming Big Committee and participated in Junior Greek Life and Varsity Revue. DeWitt served as intramural sports chair and as chaplain of his fraternity, while also volunteering with Into the Streets and the Humane Society.
Kirksey, from Stillwater, is majoring in human development and family science with an option in family and consumer sciences education. She was a member of the President’s Leadership Council and served as president of the Human Sciences Freshman Scholar Leaders during her first year at OSU. She also served on Freshman Representative Council, as secretary for Junior Greek Life and on the CowboyThon Big Committee. Kirksey is active in the Family and Consumer Sciences Club and serves as philanthropy director for her sorority.
