Sarah Sauer named Outstanding Senior at OSU

Sarah Sauer, nutritional sciences senior in the College of Human Sciences, has been named an OSU Alumni Association Outstanding Senior. This award, earned by 15 other Oklahoma State University seniors, recognizes students who excel academically, are involved in campus or community activities, and exhibit a strong work ethic while attending OSU.
Sauer was actively involved in the Mortar Board Honor Society and the College of Human Sciences Student Council where she served as president and secretary for both organizations.
As a senator on the Student Government Association, she served as the Internal Affairs Committee Chair. She was a member of the OSU Homecoming Steering Committee in 2014 and 2015.
Sauer, who has achieved a 3.97 grade point and will earn a minor in Spanish, received a Wentz Research Scholarship and was named an Institute of Humane Societies Scholar.
Outside of OSU, Sauer was National America Miss Oklahoma 2014. In this role, she volunteered with Positive Tomorrows School, emceed the Tulsa Step Out: Walk for Diabetes, and worked at the Tulsa Walk for Alzheimer’s.
Her individual awards include 2016 Student Philanthropist of the Year Scholarship recipient, 2015 Greek Woman of the Year, and College of Human Sciences Senior of Distinction.
Upon graduation, Sauer plans to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.
She is the daughter of Joann and Mark Sauer of Highland Village, Texas.
