Amy Gazaway has been named the director of student academic services for the College of Education, Health and Aviation (EHA). Gazaway has 20 years of higher education experience, including serving as the coordinator for student success and career development for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) since 2000.
“Amy’s extensive knowledge in the areas of recruitment, retention and student development will help us implement innovative ideas and strategies moving forward,” said Adrienne Sanogo, EHA associate dean for academic affairs. “She is an excellent addition to our student academic services team.”
Gazaway is a two-time graduate of OSU, having earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees here. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Agricultural Education with specializations in leadership development and communications and anticipates completing the program this summer. Her dissertation work centers on the concept of positive psychology and how students’ innate talents impact college student retention.
As director, Gazaway will oversee academic advising, career services, prospective student recruitment and current student engagement for the college. Additionally, she will manage new student orientation programs and freshmen orientation courses.
“I look forward to bringing all my experiences together to help EHA students achieve their goals,” Gazaway said.
