Oklahoma State University has been recognized as having one of the top 10 online master’s in educational technology degree programs by College Values Online. Selection criteria includes accreditation, rankings in major publications and affordability. Fifty schools were chosen and ranked based on raw affordability, and OSU came in ninth on the recently published list.
The educational technology program in the OSU College of Education, Health and Aviation offers two master’s degree options: educational technology and school library media. The online delivery format provides convenience and flexibility, especially for working adult students. Both programs can be completed in as little as 18 months and applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
The educational technology option integrates instructional design, online teaching, information management and multimedia design and development along with core technology. Students who pursue the school library media option can earn advanced certification as a school library media specialist in Oklahoma. The coursework prepares graduates to serve in a variety of educational settings as certified school librarians or technology integration specialists.
“Our degrees can complement a variety of careers and workplaces,” said Dr. Penny Thompson, associate professor of educational technology and program coordinator. “We want to help students learn how to find, select and implement the technology to support the teaching work they are doing.”
Students who are currently employed full time by a school in Oklahoma can take advantage of the Oklahoma Teacher’s Outreach Waiver. This waiver is only available for students who enroll in a College of Education, Health and Aviation online degree or online graduate certificate program. Additional restrictions may apply.
