Graduate assistants recognized for outstanding achievements

The College of Education, Health and Aviation will recognize eight graduate assistants for outstanding achievements at the college’s annual Excellence Awards on May 10. These students work alongside faculty in their academic areas to support research initiatives and academic instruction.

From the School of Community Health Sciences, Counseling and Counseling Psychology:

Jeannie Martin, graduate research assistant and doctoral student in counseling psychology

Martin is the assistant to the clinic director at the OSU-Tulsa Counseling Center and the assistant to the program coordinator for the master’s in counseling program.

 

 Esosa Osagiede, graduate teaching assistant and master’s student in public health

Osagiede taught total wellness courses, helping students better understand and discuss health disparity issues.

  

  

From the School of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Aviation:

Darin Behara, graduate research assistant and doctoral student in educational leadership and policy studies

Behara has worked with faculty on a women in higher education research project and helped with program recruitment efforts and strategic planning.

  

Jun Fu, graduate teaching assistant and doctoral student in educational psychology

Fu has served as an instructor for four courses in the educational psychology program since 2014 and has helped facilitate the program’s orientation.

 

From the School of Kinesiology, Applied Health and Recreation:

Carlos Estrada, graduate research assistant and doctoral student in health and human performance

Estrada has been conducting a six-week training intervention in the Applied Neuromuscular Physiology Lab for his dissertation while also teaching three classes in the School of Kinesiology, Applied Health and Recreation. 

 

Masoud Moghaddam, graduate teaching assistant and doctoral student in health and human performance

Moghaddam was a teaching assistant for an applied anatomy course and published numerous articles as the lead and co-author, while also serving as the vice president of the Graduate and Professional Student Government Association.

  

From the School of Teaching, Learning and Educational Sciences:

Drew Gossen, graduate research assistant and doctoral student in science education

Gossen taught a course for secondary science and mathematics education students and assisted on research projects with a team of program faculty members.

  

Jessica Watts, graduate teaching assistant and doctoral student in curriculum studies

Watts taught an elementary curriculum course, supervised a student teacher and served as a Graduate College Ambassador.
