Romano named a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Diana Romano, assistant extension specialist in Family and Consumer Sciences, has received the Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics designation.
This designation recognizes Romano’s commitment to the field of dietetics and celebrates her professional accomplishments and pursuit of life-long learning. Selection as a Fellow signifies that a member has lived up to the Academy’s values of customer focus, integrity, innovation and social responsibility. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals.
At OSU, Romano works with the Community Nutrition Education Program (CNEP), where she focuses on programming for adults. CNEP provides nutrition education to limited-resource individuals and families within Oklahoma communities through the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed), known as the Oklahoma Nutrition Education (ONE) program in Oklahoma.
Romano, a Registered Dietitian, has expertise in community nutrition education and in Latino/Hispanic Culture. She was recognized with the National Hispanic Medical Association Leadership Award in 2016 and 2017. Romano earned a Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences from OSU and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Pontifical Xaverian University.
