Meet Bella Garagusi, Senior of Significance

Thursday, March 4, 2021

Bella Garagusi, from Tulsa, Okla., majors in fashion design and production and minors in Spanish. After graduation, she is set to work as a product development and design intern at Kohl’s corporate headquarters in Wisconsin.

What are you most proud of accomplishing at OSU?

My proudest accomplishment at OSU has been making life-long friendships and developing a rich community that has strengthened and pushed me to be the best version of myself. I also am proud to have obtained a 3.96 GPA institutionally over the past years.

What has challenged you to grow as a leader?

During my time at OSU, my experience with volunteering as a Klife small-group leader for senior girls from Stillwater High school has stretched me to be an even better example and leader. I have learned to never lose focus of the importance of being available with my time and investing in others.

What were some of the activities you were involved with while an OSU student?

I was a model and designer for the student-led OSU Euphoria Fashion Show, and I was part of OSU Cowboy Cousins and the President’s Leadership Council. As a member of Tau Beta Chi Omega, I have volunteered with CowboyThon, a campaign drive led by Greek organizations to support Oklahoma’s Children’s Hospital Foundation, and led as recruitment organizational chair.

What work experience have you gained while an OSU student?

I gained experience as a fashion design intern for Johnny’s Sewing Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma and then also interned remotely as a Digital Strategy Intern for TINGE beauty. Additionally, I have worked as a Retail Sales Associate at Madewell, Seasonal Part-time Stylist at Kendra Scott, and for the OSU Football Athletic Department as a class checker during my time at OSU.

Already having a job lined up after graduation is impressive. What will be your responsibilities as a Kohl’s product development and design intern?

I will be responsible for helping with aspects of the concept-to-customer process, including production, costing and sample management. I will also assist with quality reviews, vendor emails, meeting set-up and product review. This position will give me an opportunity to shadow and learn from all levels of the product development team.
