As part of the state’s seven-year accreditation cycle, Oklahoma State University teacher education programs  were recognized following a comprehensive review by the Oklahoma Office of Educational Quality and Accountability.

The program review process focuses on continuous improvement and ensures alignment with national and state-approved standards. All OSU teacher certification programs were approved, and 10 were Approved with Distinction, the highest level of recognition by the OEQA.

This strong performance reflects the quality of instruction, commitment of our faculty, and the success of our graduates in Educator Preparation Programs at OSU.

“Earning a degree in education at Oklahoma State University equips students with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to excel in the classroom and beyond. OSU graduates are thoroughly prepared to meet certification requirements, ensuring they are ready to step confidently into teaching roles,” said Dr. Toni Ivey, professor of science education and director of Educator Support and P-12 Outreach for the Office of Educator Support.

Recognition decisions are based on graduates’ major GPA for the last three years at a 3.00 or above; Education Preparation Program verified candidates’ overall Oklahoma Subject Area Test pass rate for the last three years at 80% or above the state average for verified candidates for the last three years; and EPP verified candidates’ overall pass rate on an approved performance assessment for the last three years at 80% or above or above the state average for verified candidates for the last three years.

“With an emphasis on practical training and academic excellence, OSU educators are not only classroom-ready but also highly sought after by schools across Oklahoma and the nation. Their reputation for dedication, expertise and innovative teaching makes them invaluable assets to the communities they serve, reinforcing OSU’s commitment to shaping the future of education.”
