Lynn Boorady receives ITAA Fellow Award

Dr. Lynn Boorady, Design and Merchandising department head at Oklahoma State University, was presented with the International Textile and Apparel Association Fellow Award for 2025.

The highest award bestowed upon ITAA members, the Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of textiles and clothing and have demonstrated tremendous service within the ITAA. Nominees are evaluated by their teaching excellence, ongoing professional development, research and creative contributions to their field, the scope of their professional presentations and more.

Thank you for your significant contribution toward our goals and your indispensable support of our mission. 2025 ITAA FellowBoorady has actively served ITAA for more than 30 years, including a stint as the organization’s president in 2023. Her research in functional clothing design addresses the needs of specialized populations, including firefighters, athletes, agricultural workers and others. She also has expertise in personal protective equipment and 3D body scanning.

Boorady has made significant contributions to the textiles and clothing industry not only through her extensive research publications and conference presentations, but also her leadership as a university faculty member and successful collaboration with other industry professionals.

She has played a pivotal role in developing a 3D digital product creation certificate at OSU, working closely with industry professionals and educators to determine the skills and knowledge necessary for 3D designers. 

Boorady has been part of the OSU Cowboy family since 2019 and has received various awards for her teaching and mentoring excellence, including the Leave the Ladder Down award, presented to faculty, staff and administrators who have successfully mentored and encouraged those with whom they work or instruct to reach their fullest potential.
