MAE students receive honors in Governors Cup Competition

Congratulations to Aravind Seshadri (Team Leader), Carlo Branca, Pedro Velasco, and Prof. Prabhakar Pagilla (Advisor) for winning 2nd Place in the 2013 Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup. Their team, R2R Technologies, competed in the high growth graduate division and placed 2nd among six finalists. R2R Technologies developed “intelligent” guides for use in manufacturing of flexible materials.  Using a patented fiber optic sensor, the R2R technology will reduce waste and cost by keeping material properly aligned during manufacturing to prevent wrinkling, creasing or even breaking of the material.
