Oklahoma State University’s Ken Bell Receives ASME 75th Anniversary Medal

(STILLWATER, Okla., July 12, 2013)-- Kenneth J. Bell, Kerr-McGee Chair Emeritus and Regents Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University, has been selected to receive the 75th Anniversary Medal of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Heat Transfer Division in recognition for his “service to the heat transfer community and contributions to the field.”
Dr. Bell’s research is in the areas of fluid mechanics and heat transfer. He is recognized as an international expert in the areas of heat-exchanger selection, application, design and process trouble-shooting in energy industries. Dr. Bell served as an advisor in many national and international programs, including the Advisory Committee to the Army Research Office and National Academy of Sciences, and five years as a member of the National Science Foundation Working Group on US-USSR Cooperative Research Programs in Heat and Mass Transfer.
The award will be presented at the 2013 Summer Heat Transfer Conference in Minneapolis this month. ASME helps the global engineering community develop solutions to real world challenges.
