The Applications Engineering Program continues to positively impact the state’s economy by providing engineering support to Oklahoma’s small- to medium-sized manufacturers. In fiscal year 2015 the AEP had $118 million dollars. Based on third-party surveys of the manufacturers that received assistance from the program, projects completed by the Applications Engineers in FY2015 resulted in cost savings of $6.1 million, increased sales of $30.5 million, retention of sales of $63.3 million, $12.3 million in capital investments, $6.6 million in unnecessary investments avoided, 194 jobs created and 37 jobs retained that would have otherwise been lost.
“Many of our state’s small- to medium-sized manufacturers cannot afford to have a fulltime engineering staff,” AEP Program Manager, Doug Enns stated. “The AEP’s staff of experienced, professional engineers are here to help those manufacturers with their engineering problems, helping them to become more competitive.”
