College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology’s FabLab partners with Ditch Witch®

Thursday, March 5, 2015

Through donations of materials and resources, Ditch Witch has been a partner of the Oklahoma State University FabLab – a hands-on facility in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology. Over the years, the company has donated approximately $29,000 in scrap tubular steel in various sizes. The steel is utilized in various manufacturing courses as raw material for the student projects.

“This partnership highlights the ability of industry and academia to collaborate in innovative ways to bring the best possible equipment and materials directly to the class room,” said Lab Coordinator Jeremy Crocker. “The OSU FabLab is proud to partner with Ditch Witch and will continue to seek out innovative opportunities to collaborate with Ditch Witch to improve the educational experience of the student.”

Ditch Witch has also provided mentorship and assistance on various projects through donations of time and resources. When student and research projects have shown to be a fitting partnership opportunity, Ditch Witch has donated whatever resources were needed for that project. As an acknowledgement of the partnership, FabLab has hung a banner featuring Ditch Witch in the FabLab’s metal fabrication laboratory and classroom.

Ditch Witch is A Charles Machine Works Company, which is an employee-owned company founded in Perry, Oklahoma. Charles Machine Works specializes in the underground utility construction industry, providing innovative solutions and products for the installation and maintenance of pipe and cable around the world.

The OSU FabLab is excited to continue partnering with Ditch Witch and will continue to showcase all partnerships that support the lab.
