FAMA Awards Scholarship to Tyler Lambert
Thursday, July 30, 2015
The Fire Apparatus Manufacturers Association has awarded Tyler Lambert from Lake Hopatcong,
N.J. the Philip L. Turner Fire Protection Scholarship.
Lambert, a senior studying fire protection and safety engineering technology, says
he will use the scholarship money to pay for his tuition this fall.
“This scholarship from FAMA has taken a lot of pressure off of my shoulders with paying
for my final semester at OSU,” Lambert says. “This award means a lot to me; as an
out-of-state student, financial aid opportunities can be hard to find.”
The scholarship is worth $5,000. FAMA only offers this scholarship to one full-time
sophomore, junior or senior student registered in a four-year fire protection engineering
program or a full-time master’s degree program in fire protection engineering or administration.
The student must attend Oklahoma State University, the University of Maryland or a
similar university that offers the same kind of program.
Lambert will accept award at the Fire Rescue International Conference in Atlanta,
Ga. on Friday, August 28.
