New partnership formed with OSU-NPDC

Wednesday, December 2, 2015

Oklahoma start-up businesses and entrepreneurs now have a valuable resource for developing ideas, thanks to a recent partnership between the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center (OKSBDC) and Oklahoma State University’s New Product Development Center (NPDC). The OKSBDC is recognized for its confidential, high-quality, no-cost entrepreneurial and small business management advising. The collaboration, known as OKSBDC-Center for Technology Commercialization (CTC), provides information and technical expertise for individuals and small businesses with ideas ground in technology advancements. Dana Fisher, new director for the CTC, brings over 25 years of experience to the position.

"The Center for Technology Commercialization represents a unique opportunity for inventors as well as emerging and established entrepreneurs to take advantage of engineering services to develop their products in concert with business advisory assistance to take their ideas to market," Fisher said.

The OKSBDC-CTC was also part of the NPDC’s first services showcase on Dec. 1, 2015 at the Helmerich Research Center at OSU-Tulsa. The showcase was a collaboration between the OSU College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) and OSU-Tulsa and highlighted the outreach services available to small businesses, entrepreneurs and manufacturers. The showcase offered attendees the opportunity to learn about available services, tour selected labs in the OSU-Tulsa Helmerich Research Center and visit one-on-one with OSU-Tulsa outreach groups. Participants included OSU CEAT, the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center, the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology and the OSU-Tulsa School of Material Science and Engineering.

For more information, contact the OKSBDC-CTC, located in the Morgan Accelerator Building at 1201 S. Innovation Way Drive in Stillwater, Okla. or call Dana Fisher, center director at 405.744.1634. Additional information can be found at www.oksbdc.org.
