OSU CEAT hosts first engineering design competition

(STILLWATER, Okla., August 18, 2015) – Oklahoma State University CEAT Professional Development hosted the first OSU CEAT 2015 Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering Design & Development (EDD) State Competition and Showcase.
The EDD Showcase was held on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Conoco Philips Alumni Center. A total of 131 students registered for the State Competition and a total of 41 teams submitted design projects.
Sixteen teams were invited to showcase their projects at the event, where the top five teams presented and the top three teams won CEAT scholarships. All of the students in the top three teams attend the Tulsa Tech STEM PLTW Academy in Tulsa, Okla.

1st Place:
Commercial Vehicle Blind Spots CEAT Scholarship - $1000 each member

Crutches Safety on Stairs CEAT Scholarship - $500 each member

The 2015 Oklahoma Engineering Design Competition is an opportunity administered by Oklahoma State University College of Engineering, Architecture, & Technology (CEAT) for those currently enrolled in a Project Lead The Way capstone course “Engineering Design and Development” (EDD). The competition is designed to recognize and reward outstanding student projects and highlight the importance of engineering design and problem solving in STEM education.
