CEAT Professional Development has completed a nine-month program for students from Saudi Aramco Company. This was a highly customized program that immersed the Saudi Aramco Students into the field of Fire Protection and Safety.
The program included academic development and mentoring from OSU faculty, industry experts and OSU upperclassmen. The students received intensive instruction on inspection, testing and maintenance of automatic fire sprinkler systems, industrial fire pumps and fire alarm systems, special hazard fire protection systems, design of fixed fire protection systems, plan review for fire safety, along with many other relative topics.
In addition, students were given opportunities to travel throughout the United States for academic and cultural purposes. In these travels, they attended the American Fire Sprinkler Association Conference in Florida, Underwriters Laboratory in Illinois, Factory Mutual in Rhode Island, the National Fire Protection Association Technical Conference in Florida, Liberty Mutual in Wisconsin, Fire House World in California, and the Fire Department Instructors Conference in Indiana.
The students say they learned a lot and are going to miss Oklahoma, but they are ready to go back home and implement their new found knowledge.
