(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / AUGUST 25, 2016) – The City of Stillwater recognizes fire department intern Ashley Evans, who recently received a scholarship from the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
Evans is a senior studying fire protection and safety engineering technology at Oklahoma State University. She has interned with the Stillwater Fire Department since October 2014.
“This scholarship stands for more than just money to go towards a tuition bill at the end of each semester,” Evans said. “It stands for an opportunity to make a positive, lasting impact on the fire service community and my future as a fire safety professional."
While at OSU, Evans has been involved in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, where she served as president of the OSU Chapter, and the American Society of Safety Engineers, where she served as the vice president of the OSU Chapter.
