Thursday, May 24, 2018

STILLWATER, Okla. –  Kaitlyn Lane of Beulah, Colo. has been named a W.W. Allen Boys and Girls Club scholar.

The W.W. Allen Boys and Girls Club Scholars Program awards more than $60,000 toward a bachelor’s degree in engineering for an incoming freshman who was active in a Boys and Girls Club chapter while in high school. The scholarship program also includes enrichment activities, professional development and national and international travel opportunities. Only one scholarship is awarded each year.

“My journey with the Boys and Girls Club began as an effort to find meaningful community service experiences, but has transformed into so much more than that; it is a way I can genuinely make a difference in the lives of others in my community,” said Lane.

While in high school, Lane was 4-H South Central District President, 4-H Leadership Society President, Colorado State DECA Social Media Director, HOSA Chapter President, National Honor Society Treasurer, and participated in Colorado Girl’s State, 4-H horse judging, 4-H shooting sports, and varsity girls golf. She will pursue her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at OSU.
