Gentry Meyer, a chemical engineering major from Leedey, Oklahoma, has been selected as an Oklahoma State University 2019-2020 Outstanding Senior by the OSU Alumni Association.

The Outstanding Seniors award recognizes seniors who show excellence through academic achievement; campus and community involvement; academic, athletic or extracurricular honors or awards; scholarships and work ethic during their time at OSU.

While at OSU, Meyer served as an executive for the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) Student Council, Walkaround and promotional design executive for Homecoming Steering Committee, and marketing and communications co-chair for the OSU Speakers Board, and she was part of the Student Foundation and served as a campus tour guide. Her community involvement includes volunteering at the Oklahoma WONDERtorium, Make A Wish Foundation, United Way, and serving as a Camp Cowboy counselor. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church.

Meyer was also named a Phillips66 Senior Design Competition Winner and Top 15 Homecoming Royalty, and she was a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

“Oklahoma State is where I have had the most rewarding experiences, gained mentors, and built friendships that will last a lifetime,” Meyer said. “This University has molded me into the person I am today, and I will forever be grateful to be part of the Cowboy Family.”

After graduation, Meyer will move to Houston, Texas, to work within the ExxonMobil Engineers in Operations Program.

Meyer is one of 16 students selected for the 2019-2020 Outstanding Senior award. The OSU Alumni Association Student Awards and Selection Committee selected the 16 winners after meeting with the 41 Seniors of Significance selected in the fall of 2019 and reviewing their applications.
