Walker named director of International Students and Scholars for OSU Global

Oklahoma State University Global has named Elisabeth Walker as the new director of the Office of International Students and Scholars.  

Previously, Walker was the associate director of the International Student and Scholars Office at the University of Texas-Dallas. 

“I am very excited to return to my home state and join the leadership team of OSU Global. In this role, I am looking forward to guiding and supporting the ISS staff, international students and scholars as well as campus stakeholders,” Walker said. 

Walker has spent the last 20 years working in higher education with both domestic and international students after living abroad in Seoul, South Korea, for two years as an English language teacher. 

While she had several roles in international education before, Walker realized her passions and talents lay in the industry while she was at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, where she was able to explore all aspects of international student advising and program development. These experiences laid a strong foundation for the 11 years she would spend at UT-Dallas as an international student advisor, senior advisor, assistant director and associate director at the ISS Office. 

Dr. Randy Kluver, associate provost and dean of OSU Global, is optimistic about Walker joining the team. 

"International students are an incredibly important part of OSU's campus, and we are confident that Lissa Walker will add significant strength and vision to the vital work of the Office of International Students and Scholars," Kluver said. 

As the director of ISS, Walker will oversee the success of the office in line with a constantly shifting global immigration and political environment, develop international programs and services, and supervise operations and staff.
