OSU Health Care Heroes: Kristin Mattix

Friday, July 17, 2020

OSU Health Care Heroes is a series highlighting those from the OSU-CHS community who have gone above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic to serve their institution, community and state.

What is your role here at OSU-CHS and how long have you been here?
I am the bookstore manager at OSU-CHS and I've been here two years in July

What do you enjoy about working at OSU-CHS?
I enjoy interacting with the people that come through the campus.

In what ways has your role and responsibilities grown and changed due to COVID-19?
My role has changed quite a bit since we closed campus in March. Currently, I am the PPE—Personal Protective Equipment— distributor for OSU-CHS and OSU-Tulsa.

How did you step up to meet these new challenges?
I was asked to help out with this project during the early days of the OSU-CHS response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

What did you learn about yourself, your co-workers and your workplace, OSU-CHS, during this time?
I learned that I can take on new responsibilities with stride. My coworkers have been great. They help me when they can.
