Stacie Pace, MHA, who has worked to improve and enhance the health of rural and underserved communities in Oklahoma for almost 10 years, was recently named the George Kaiser Family Foundation Endowed Chair of Health Technology Development.

Pace works with OSU Center for Health Sciences and the Center for Health Systems Innovation, a joint venture between the OSU Spears School of Business and OSU-CHS. CHSI’s mission is to transform health care systems through innovation and collaboration.

In her role as director of health technology development, Pace collaborates with others to design, test and implement technologies that improve health care delivery and patient outcomes in rural and underserved communities. She also mentors OSU-CHS students, engages with stakeholders and works to secure funding for research and development in health technology.

“Tulsa is deeply interconnected with Oklahoma’s rural areas, both economically and socially. Addressing their health disparities can have a significant ripple effect on urban health outcomes,” she said. “By improving access to care, advancing health technologies and addressing systemic challenges in Oklahoma’s health, we not only strengthen those communities, but also create a healthier, more integrated health care system that benefits Tulsa and the entire state.”

Several years ago, the George Kaiser Family Foundation made a commitment to OSU to support several endowed chair positions.

“The George Kaiser Family Foundation supports the ongoing efforts at OSU-CHS to address health care challenges and improve health outcomes in Oklahoma,” said Monica Basu, senior program officer with GKFF. “Stacie Pace was chosen to fill this endowed chair position because of her years of experience and her ability to collaborate with leaders from the medical and technology fields in order to advance the health care industry as well as the health of patients.”

Pace said being the George Kaiser Family Foundation endowed chair is both an honor and a significant responsibility.

“This endowed position provides the resources and platform to focus on impactful initiatives, particularly in areas of health, technology and community-based solutions,” she said. “It also represents a commitment to upholding the mission of advancing the health care workforce and improving access to health care, which aligns closely with my professional goals and personal values.”
