Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City is holding tryouts for a singer to perform the national anthem at this year’s commencement ceremony.
Tryouts will be held at noon on March 4 in the Hub on the second floor of the Student Center at OSU-OKC.
Do you think you’ve got what it takes? If you’re an OSU-OKC student and want to try out, fill out your information on this form.
A panel of OSU-OKC administrators and students will select the winners.
“We can’t wait to see the talent our students bring to the table,” said Jack Damrill, associate vice president of marketing and communications for OSU-OKC. “We know there’s an OSU-OKC student out there who is ready to show the world what they can do!”
For the tryouts, students will introduce themselves and share a little bit about their background, then perform the national anthem for the judges.
You may sing a cappella, accompany yourself with an instrument, or sing to a track.
If you are playing an instrument or singing to a track, check with OSU-OKC’s Clinton Carter in advance at Clinton.carter@okstate.edu.
The selected winner from the tryouts must be available to perform the Star-Spangled Banner live at the commencement exercises starting at 6 p.m., May 9, at the Bennett Event Center, State Fair Grounds.
