Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology celebrated 361 graduates during
its summer commencement ceremonies Thursday, recognizing students prepared to enter
Oklahoma’s workforce in high-demand industries.
Graduates received degrees and certificates across OSUIT’s wide range of programs, including advanced technology, engineering, applied sciences, business and health. As Oklahoma’s premier polytechnic university, OSUIT is recognized for strong industry partnerships and hands-on learning that prepare students for successful careers.
A new tradition debuted this semester as first-generation college graduates were honored with a turquoise cord. This recognition adds to the symbolic representations of achievement and service already worn by OSUIT graduates: every graduate receives a bronze medallion, veterans are distinguished with a red, white and blue cord, Phi Theta Kappa members wear a yellow stole or tassel, and members of the National Society of Leadership and Success are recognized with medallions, cords and stoles in red, black and gray.
OSUIT holds commencement ceremonies each trimester to celebrate students who have completed their academic programs.
