Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences recently revamped its website (https://vetmed.okstate.edu/). Web designer Paul West created a new website that engages its audience — students, faculty, veterinary clients and alumni.
“The goal is have a design that is easy to navigate that provides engaging content and useful information,” West said. “People can easily discover inspiring stories, photos and videos on our website and connect with us on social media.”
West joined the veterinary center earlier this year as its web designer and videographer. He built the new site using information gathered from an external focus group; input from current faculty, staff and students; and baseline marketing research compiled for the center’s Veterinary Medical Hospital.
“The website is such an improvement over the old site,” said Carol Johnson, focus group member. “The home page is attractive with enticing pictures and does such an outstanding job of telling the veterinary center’s story.”
Dr. Jean Sander, dean of CVHS, agreed.
“The Center for Veterinary Health Sciences and the veterinary medical profession have many exciting aspects which support both animal and human health,” Sander said. “This new website should be more welcoming and interesting, thereby encouraging visitors to learn more about veterinary medicine and how it touches all our lives.”
