Veterans Day Observance

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

Veterans Day is a time to honor all those who have served our country and sacrificed to protect our freedom. In honor of all military personnel past and present, the CVHS will hold a brief Veterans Day Observance on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 3:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held in the McElroy Hall Auditorium located at the corner of West Farm Road and McFarland. All are welcome to attend.

Lieutenant Colonel Troy Bucher (pictured above), Professor of Military Science for the OSU Army ROTC Program, will speak briefly followed by a small reception.

LTC Bucher enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1989 and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 1998. Throughout his 26 year career, he has served in a myriad of assignments and has been heavily involved in officer education and training. Prior to his arrival to OSU in May 2015, he served as the Deputy Commanding Officer for the 30th Air Defense Artillery Brigade at Ft. Sill.

He is married to the former Ms. Rachel Harris, a native of Ryan, Oklahoma, and has three children. His oldest son, Dylan, is a Nuclear Technician in the U.S. Navy.

LTC Bucher’s highest awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Meritorious Service Medal (3 times).

Please join us today as we honor all military personnel.
