Veterinary Voices: Navicular Syndrome and Your Horse

Is your horse predisposed to navicular syndrome? If you are a horse owner, the next Veterinary Voices Seminar on Tuesday, April 7, might be of interest.
Dan Burba, DVM, DACVS, professor of equine surgery at OSU’s Veterinary Medical Hospital, will talk about navicular syndrome. The seminar begins at 7 p.m. in McElroy Hall Auditorium at the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences located on the corner of McFarland and West Farm Road on the OSU Stillwater campus.
Burba will discuss navicular syndrome, what it is, how it is diagnosed, and if certain horses are predisposed to this problem. He will also talk about treatment and management considerations for this problem.
Burba earned his DVM degree at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a large animal medicine and surgery internship and an equine surgery residency at Oklahoma State. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1995. Earlier this year, Burba joined the equine surgery team at OSU’s Veterinary Medical Hospital.
All Veterinary Voices Seminars are open to the public at no charge. For those who are unable to attend in person, the program will be streamed live at www.ostate.tv.
