Give to the OSU Animal Relief Fund

With tornado season just underway in Oklahoma, animal lovers everywhere are encouraged to support the OSU Animal Relief Fund to enable Oklahoma State University’s Veterinary Medical Hospital to continue to provide needed care for animals like this mare and her foal.

The OSU Animal Relief Fund was established in 2013 following the deadly tornados that twisted through Oklahoma. The recent F3 tornado near Sulphur, Okla., resulted in several animals being severely injured. Seven horses from that area are being treated, at no cost to the owners, at OSU’s Veterinary Medical Hospital using funds from this account.

“When disaster strikes, we know the last thing people who have lost their home and all their belongings need to worry about is how they are going to pay for their animals’ care,” said Dr. Mark Neer, director of OSU’s Veterinary Medical Hospital. “We are glad to treat these injured animals; however, we must pay for the costs that we incur in providing this care. The OSU Animal Relief Fund helps us cover the cost of this care. We need to make sure that this account maintains sufficient funds so that we can provide treatment for animals when future disasters occur.”

Anyone can make a tax deductible donation to the OSU Animal Relief Fund online at OSU Animal Relief Fund. Donations can also be made by check payable to the OSU Foundation with OSU Animal Relief Fund in the memo and mailed to OSU Foundation, PO Box 1749, Stillwater, OK 74076-1749.
