Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows Welcome

The Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences encourages individuals seeking new career challenges to contact the graduate program office. The veterinary center is looking for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to explore careers in teaching, research or other aspects of veterinary medicine.

“Opportunities can combine training in infectious diseases, parasitology, physiology, or other disciplines, with residency training, public health, or business. The end result will be the Doctor of Philosophy degree, or Master’s degree in Science, Public Health, or Business Administration,” explains Pamela Lloyd, PhD, graduate program coordinator for Veterinary Biomedical Sciences at the veterinary center. “Our goal is to train academic scientists, teachers, and clinicians across a range of disciplines in preparation for careers in academic veterinary medicine, public service, or industry.”

Currently the veterinary center has an opportunity available for a graduate research assistantship (PhD) supported by the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology. This position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Teluguakula Narasaraju in the Department of Physiological Sciences at the veterinary center on the OSU Stillwater campus.

The project focusses on understanding the molecular pathogenesis of influenza virus pneumonia using mouse-models and test combination therapies.
