Oklahoma State Veterinary Center Welcomes the Class of 2020

Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences welcomed the class of 2020 as they officially begin their journey to earn a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. The class numbers 88—13 men and 75 women.   

“As a land grant university, one of our core missions is to train the next generation of veterinarians,” said Dr. Chris Ross, professor and interim dean of the veterinary center. “We strive to graduate competent veterinarians who can serve the needs of Oklahoma, the nation and the world. Students spend the first three years primarily in the classroom studying anatomy, pharmacology, pathology and more. Their fourth year will be spent in our Veterinary Medical Hospital honing their clinical skills as they apply what they have learned in the classroom to real life cases.”

The class of 2020 is comprised of 58 Oklahoma residents and 30 nonresidents representing Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Wisconsin.
