3MT® 2017 Competition Results

Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences recently hosted the 2017 Three Minute Thesis Competition for its graduate students. Congratulations to all seven participants.
Sponsored by Halliburton, students must explain their research thesis in three minutes or less using terms that anyone can understand. Special thanks to this year’s judges Dr. Sidney Ewing, professor emeritus; Tricia White, senior administrative support specialist for OSU’s Faculty Council Office; and Robin Wilson, director of admissions for the veterinary center.
And the winners are:
- 1st place: “Is Diabetes Taking Your Breath Away?” by Allison Campolo, PhD student in the Department of Physiological Sciences mentored by Dr. Veronique Lacombe
- 2nd place and People’s Choice Award: “Cancer: Bad to the Core” by Kalyani Ektate, PhD student in the Department of Physiological Sciences mentored by Dr. Ashish Ranjan
- 3rd place: “Friends to Foes” by Roshini Sathiaseelen, PhD student in the Department of Physiological Sciences mentored by Dr. Lin Liu
Campolo will represent the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences in the campus-wide 3MT® Competition to be held later this academic year.
