4H Day 2017

Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences hosted 17 high school 4-H students from across Oklahoma.

Students listened to a presentation on the center’s DVM program and participated in several hands-on activities. In the equine section of OSU’s Veterinary Medical Hospital, students learned about suturing, palpating, using a stethoscope, and leg wrapping. In veterinary parasitology, visitors had an opportunity to see a variety of parasites that affect livestock and in the anatomy lab, students heard about the heart and were able to work with actual pig hearts.
