Timothy Snider, DVM, PhD, DACVP, a pathologist at Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, is working to improve lifespan and health span. He is a founding member of the Geropathology Research Network.

“Our group is developing mouse pathology scoring systems to use in determining pathology endpoints in aging studies,” explains Snider, who earned his DVM (’96) and PhD (’05) from OSU. “The work is translational in that the hope is to understand mechanisms of aging and to develop and test drugs and other measures that improve lifespan and health span.

Drs. Snider and Sara Rostad, OSU veterinary center pathology resident, recently traveled to Seattle, Wash., to attend the second lesion scoring workshop for the Geropathology Grading Platform. The group consists of a research scientist, several pathologists, a postdoctoral research associate, and a lab animal veterinarian.
